David Bowie Is at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago

The MCA was invited to take on the V&A’s hugely successful David Bowie Is exhibition. With a reputation as a highbrow institution for the seriously art inclined, the MCA needed to bust into a more mainstream audience than it had previously enjoyed.
The Solution
By creating a multi-channel, visually rich advertising campaign with punchy headlines such as “A Starman has landed in Chicago. Get your tickets before he’s gone”, I clearly signaled the must-see nature of the show to audiences.
The Results
All time record attendance with over 200,000 people visiting the museum in a three month period, and doubled projected revenues. Email sign-ups were up to an all time high, and demand for tickets drove memberships.
